Energy Facility Siting Council to meet January 30 in The Dalles

SALEM — Two wind farms yet to be built will be the focus of discussion at the next Energy Facility Siting Council meeting on January 30 in The Dalles. The meeting is open to the public and begins at 9 a.m. at the Discovery Center, 5000 Discovery Dr.
The main items on the Council’s agenda include:
- Golden Hills Wind Project (Sherman County): The Council will hold a hearing on a request to transfer the site certificate, then decide whether to grant the transfer and extend the construction start and completion by two years.
- Saddle Butte Wind Park (Gilliam and Morrow counties): The hearing officer in the Saddle Butte Wind contested case proceeding issued his Proposed Contested Case Order on Nov. 18, 2014. The Council will make a decision on Saddle Butte Wind, LLC’s motion to remand the proposed contested case order back to the hearing officer for reconsideration.
- Rulemaking: The Council will consider options for rulemaking related to its balancing authority of the siting standards and may direct staff to begin the rulemaking process.
