Oregon Department of Energy to Hold Public Hearing on Rules for New Oregon Solar + Storage Rebate Program

HB 2618, which passed the Oregon Legislature earlier this year, established a new solar and solar plus storage rebate program at the Oregon Department of Energy.

Rebates will be issued for solar electric systems and paired solar and solar storage systems installed for residential customers and low-income service providers in Oregon. ODOE has $2 million allocated for rebates and program administration.

This fall, the ODOE team has been working on developing Administrative Rules for the program in anticipation of a January 2020 program launch date. Proposed rules are now available online, and ODOE is accepting public comments on the rules through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.

We’ll also be holding a public hearing on the rules next month:
