Energy Facility Siting Council to Meet Remotely May 21-22

SALEM — The next regularly scheduled meeting of Oregon’s Energy Facility Siting Council will be held virtually Thursday and Friday, May 21-22, 2020. The public meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and 8:30 a.m. on Friday.

  • Obsidian Solar Center, Draft Proposed Order Public Hearing (POSTPONED) – The public hearing on the Draft Proposed Order for the proposed Obsidian Solar Center facility originally scheduled to take place Thursday, May 21 has been postponed. A new hearing will be re-scheduled and re-noticed.

  • Radioactive Waste Disposal Enforcement Rulemaking Initiation – Council will consider initiating rulemaking to revise rules in OAR 345-029 related to enforcement of rules and laws governing the disposal of radioactive waste materials in Oregon.

  • Council Review of Proposed Order on Request for Amendment 5 for the Wheatridge Wind Energy Facility After review, Council will approve, modify or reject the proposed order as the final order and grant or deny issuance of two new site certificates.

  • Carbon Monetary Offset Rate Update-Consideration of Proposed Rules – Council will consider a request to initiate formal rulemaking proceedings to adopt the proposed increase.

There will be opportunities for the public to comment both days.
