State to Hold Recruitment Events to Encourage Diverse Boards and Commissions

Many State of Oregon agencies, including the Oregon Department of Energy, rely on boards or commissions to help guide our important work. In fact, the Governor makes appointments to more than 250 boards and commissions representing a broad range of areas and issues for the state.

It’s important to have boards and commissions that reflect the diversity of the people they serve – diversity of geography, gender, race, disability/ability, ethnicity, LGBTQ+, and veteran status.

To encourage greater diversity among state boards and commissions, the Department of Administrative Services is hosting three free online recruitment events. We hope you’ll attend the events to learn more about what it means to serve, hear from current board or commission members, get guidance on how to apply, and more.
