Wind Farms in Oregon Begin Repowering

You may think of repowering as a weekend away, a spa day, or just a really good nap. In the energy world, repowering refers to upgrading components of an electrical generation facility in order to increase capacity and/or make a facility more efficient. These upgrades can also extend the life of an energy facility.

Energy Facility Siting Council to Meet January 23-24 in Hood River

SALEM — Oregon’s Energy Facility Siting Council will meet next on September 26-27, 2019 in Clatskanie. The public meeting begins Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Clatskanie River Inn, 600 E. Columbia River Highway. The meeting resumes on Friday at 8 a.m.

ODOE’s Siting Division Reviewing A Record 15 Projects

Utility-scale solar electric facilities are the hot new thing in Oregon, and many existing wind farms are taking steps to “repower” older turbines by using longer blades.
